Bosnia and Herzegovina inherited a rich cultural and historical heritage, which is based on Medieval, Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian and buildings in recent times, places of worship all ethnic groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the richness in the field of literature, film and music.
There are some features that you can not find in other countries or in much smaller numbers. These are mainly necropolis of stećak (tombstone), medieval stone monuments with inscriptions, decorations and signs.

There are also some grandiose communist era monuments, like in the National park Kozara, and National Park Sutjeska.
