Bosnia and Herzegovina is largely mountainous country. Bosnian mountains occupy 4/5 of the surface. The mountains in Bosnia and Herzegovina are rich in mineral and forest resources, clean water sources, diverse flora and fauna.

Over the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina extends Dinar belt, which is elevated and slightly to the north. It extends from northwest to southeast. 
The highest peak of Bosnia and Herzegovina is Maglic mountain (2,386 m). Bosnia and Herzegovina has five Olympic mountains Jahorina, Bjelasnica, Igman, Treskavica and Trebevic. Beside them mountains Volujak, ÄŒvrsnica, Prenj and Zelengora stand out as well.
