RIVERS OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
Bosnia and Herzegovina, taking the most stringent criteria of the world, is rich in water.
A special feature of water Bosnia and Herzegovina is the presence of a large number of heavy waterfalls that decorate the Bosnian landscape. Among the most beautiful and most are: Štrbački buk (23.5 m high, the highest waterfall in Bosnia and Herzegovina), Martin Brod, waterfalls on the Pliva in Jajce, and Kravica and Kocusa on the river Trebižat. Falls on small rivers or even streams are much higher: Skakavac (98 m), near Sarajevo, and Skakavac (75 m) in Perucica. Among the highest waterfall on the Balkan peninsula is the cascade creek Studeni, which fall from a height of 400 m in the canyon of river Rakitnica. This canyon is the toughest in South East Europe and is still completely unexplored.
